In a place called Chicken Stone I was five years old when I first heard live music - it was the Nevisian String Band consisting of banjo, flute/fife, quatro, güiro, bahoo, and the triangle. This collection of instruments captivated me like a pied piper, and I’d follow them through the whole village.
